I can't really see any reason to remove the non-lies section: the article on Doom has one too, and it's pretty noteworthy that there are two sets of lies told about All Bonds, since Rare lied it didn't exist. Also, I've never heard anyone claim the deleted multiplayer levels were accessible without hacking, since they were discovered that way, and Citadel was often said to flat-out not exist before the cartridge ROM was decompiled. But these aren't lies; they're misconceptions. And they might not even be that. Junk lying around on the cartridge cannot really be said to be part of the game. It's true that Citadel is not a "secret level." It's a test level that is entirely inaccessible except by the use of an Action Replay or similar device. The lie is that some people have said they've gotten to Citadel by, say, beating the game in under an hour or something. Additionally, Rare did not lie; they said the mode didn't exist, and it doesn't. A few skins exist. There's no legit way to activate the mode in the release version.
The Doom article has a section because of the Romero thing; it's so far-fetched that it seems like a lie, but it isn't. I'll be cleaning up that section of the Doom article in a moment. For now, I'll reorganize this article. I'll try to make the debate over what Rare said more explicit. Please do not revert this change. -GregoryWeir 05:42, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
You're wrong over that, though - Rare said the mode had been totally removed, but it hadn't. Equally, for a long time it was repeated that Citadel was an outright hoax that did not exist at all, and that there was absolutely no way to get the three discarded levels to work, because they'd been removed. As it turned out, none of these things were true. Evil Tim 05:44, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Ah. My bad. I'll change the Rare reference. As for the Citadel and discarded levels, the original lie was that they were accessible. The claims that the lies were outright hoaxes made from whole cloth were not intentional lies, but well-meaning mistakes. -GregoryWeir 05:51, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

As a note: if you think the Romero section counts as far-fetched, the note about Imp Encounter should definately stay on the Doom page. Evil Tim 14:22, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
